It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Joseph Mazerolle on May 16th, 2023, at the age of 99 following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Baie Ste-Anne, New Brunswick, Raymond was the son of Alfred Mazerolle and Josephine Manuel. He was a well-respected businessman and a pillar of the Baie Ste Anne Community where he owned and operated Ray’s Groceries and Sporting Goods for over 65 years. Raymond was involved with various committees, including the School Board, the Liberal Party Association, and the Woodlot association board. He was devout catholic and always turned to prayer and his faith to overcome life’s challenges.
He is survived by his children: Gary Mazerolle (Nicole), Carol Anne Mazerolle (Claude), Annette Gallant (Richard), grandchildren: Sharon Manuel, Karen Depow, Stephen Mazerolle, Matthew Guay, Sonia Wormell, Julie Gallant, Eric Gallant and great grandchildren: Alyssa, Celeste, Cody, Eve, Emma, Brooklyn, Keira and Firian as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Lynch) his brothers Tilmon, Alfred, Nazaire, Emmanuel, his sisters Mary, Rita, and Lila as well as many nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Bridgeview Hall for their incredible compassion, patience, and love for dad.
The family received visitors at Sainte-Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Route 117, Baie Ste Anne, NB on Sunday, May 21st from 7 to 9 pm and on Monday from 9 to 10:30 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Pallbearers were: Stephen Mazerolle, Joey Barrieau, Vernon Gregan, Regis Carroll, John Depow, and Jamie Keough. Honorary pallbearers were: Ade Savoie, Jimmy Partington, Willis Murphy, Paul Martin, and Alyre Manuel. Gathering after the service was held at the Club D’Age D’Or, 21 Chem. l'Église, Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB E9A 1A9.
