It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Hay on May 2, 2023, at the age of 64.
Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, Linda was the daughter of Harry and Evelyn Wilt. She grew up on Church Street in Chatham. After completing her education, she embarked on a career in office administration. In 2001, she began her career with Anglophone School District where she worked in many schools throughout the district. Most recently, Linda held a position in the Superintendent's Office.
Linda was a devoted wife to Barry, and a loving mother to her daughter Morgan.
She was known for her kind and generous nature. Always nurturing those she loved with her special recipes. She loved shopping for gifts for others, a true representation of her thoughtful and sincere nature.
Linda’s exceptional planning skills went beyond the workplace. She organized many celebrations for her family, always adding a special touch.
What she enjoyed the most, was spending time with her family and friends often around the kitchen table or, in the summer, on the pool deck.
She is survived by her husband, Barry and her daughter, Morgan (David MacIsaac), her treasured sisters, Kathy Leblanc (George) and Mary Anderson (Greg) and her brothers, Frankie Wilt (Colleen), David Wilt (Bev), and Walter Wilt (Lisa). Linda will also be greatly missed by her in-laws and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, King Street, Chatham, from 6-9pm on Monday, May 8th. A funeral service will be held at St. Michael’s Basilica on Tuesday May 9th at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the local breakfast program.

Rest in peace, dear mother, sister and aunt. You will be forever missed and always in our hearts.

And when you finally fly away, I'll be hoping that I served you well. For all the wisdom of a lifetime no one can ever tell.
-Forever young, Rod Stewart
