Eva Marie Dignam

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Eva Marie Dignam, (LeBlanc) wife of the late Byron John Dignam of Napan, New Brunswick on April the 18th, 2023.

Eva was born in Rogersville, New Brunswick in 1944, the daughter of Emile and Alma (Blacquiere) LeBlanc.

Eva worked in Dietary Services at the Hotel Dieu Hospital and Miramichi Regional Hospital in Miramichi from 1964 until her retirement in 1999. She was a faithful member of St Michaels Basilica and a 25-year member of The Miramichi Fiddlers.

Eva is survived by her close companion, William Buddy Butler, her two sons Raymond (Renee) and Peter (Darlene) of Miramichi. Four grandchildren: Alexa, Allie, Curtis and Tyler whom she loved dearly and was dearly loved by.

Eva is survived by her sisters, Therese and Docile and her brothers Mederic, Armand, Henri and France. She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her sister Stella and her brother Fernand.

Eva’s family would like to thank the amazing Nurses and Staff of the Miramichi Regional Hospital for all the care and support that were provided to Eva and the entire family during her illness. A special thank you to Dr Gerard Losier for his tireless efforts and everything he did for her.
A public visitation will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home on Friday the 21st of April 2023 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm – 8 pm with funeral services being held St Michaels Basilica on Saturday the 22nd at 11:00 am. Expressions of Sympathy can be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
