William “Bill” A. Murdock
It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of William “Bill” Murdock of Loggieville, NB who passed away at The Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday November 10, 2022, at the age of 82.
Born in Chatham, NB on Oct 18, 1940, son of Myrtle Murdock (Knowles) and the late Alvin Murdock of Loggieville, NB.
Bill will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Myrtle Murdock of Miramichi, NB, Sisters Helen Jones (Mark) of Calgary AB, Eileen Richardson (Late Ray) of Miramichi, NB, Velma Williston (Late Harry) of Bay Du Vin, NB, Catherine Williston (David) of Bay Du Vin, NB, brother David Murdock (Patsy) of Loggieville NB, Sister-In-law Rhoda Murdock of Bay Du vin NB, several Nieces, and Nephews as well as great and great great Nieces and Nephews. Billy was predeceased by his Father Alvin Murdock and brother Jack Murdock.
Bill was a man of many trades, he started his working career when he moved to Toronto, ON, where he landed a job with Roundtree Chocolate factory. He worked in several places across Canada as a Licensed Bricklayer from Miramichi, NB to Hinton, AB, where he often referred to as the gateway to the Rockies. Billy always returned to the Miramichi where he could pursue his most passionate careers, working in the woods and commercial fishing. Bill was an active member of the NB Woodlot Association.
Bill had a passion for horses that he shared with his family and owned several horses over the years. He loved his farm, getting out into the woods and going on long drives. He loved his family dearly and loved to tell long stories about the good old days and listen to his favourite singer Hank Snow.
At the request of Billy’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A private graveside burial will take place at Saint Andrew’s Cemetery in Loggieville, NB.
