Marjorie Ann (Cady) Brown
1948-2022
The death of Marjorie Ann (Cady) Brown occurred on May 29th 2022 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital surrounded by family.
Born in Chatham NB on July 11th 1948, she was the daughter of the late Alfred George Cady and Mary Eva Stella (Daigle) Cady. Marjorie Ann (Cady) Brown was pre-deceased by her husband Elwood John Brown; her son Edward John Brown; brothers; Earl, William and Melborn Cady as well as sisters; Shirley Laybolt, Mary Esther and Sharon Cady and Mary Ellen McNulty and her son in law Perry Donahue.
Marjorie is survived by daughters Esther (Max) Ingraham; Shelley Donahue (Al) and son Jason (Caroline) Brown, as well as brothers George (Francis), Frederick (Anita) and Kenneth Cady and sister Eileen Philips. Marjorie is also survived by several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Marjorie Ann (Cady) Brown took pride in being a grandmother to Holly and Cathaleen Brown; Gregory (Alana), Cady and Fraser Ingraham; Justin (Megan), Jessica and Mason Donahue and Jenna Gauvin. Each one of them have a good argument on why they were her favorite, because she made each one of them feel that way. Marjorie took an active role in raising her grandchildren from near and far and if she had the choice she would have raised them first leaving her own children to come after. In her eyes they did no wrong. Marjorie was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren, Jayda Brown, Jordan and Tyson Milks, Tayla Tsiminos, Hannah MacMillan and Oakley Ingraham.
Marjorie Ann (Cady) Brown raised her family on McLean Street (now known as Howard McLean). In this subdivision, the neighbour’s kids were treated like your own, the doors and kitchens were open to all. Marjorie enjoyed having her neighbourhood friends over for morning coffee and was best known for her candy apples and fudge at Halloween. Marjorie and Elwood hosted an annual corn boil and bonfire to welcome the upcoming school year for all the children in the neighbourhood. Many fond childhood memories were made within the Brown home.
At Marjorie’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside burial will be at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. G. Losier, Dr Swart, the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miramichi Regional Hospital and her home care worker Claudette Morrison for treating Marjorie with such care and compassion.
Because Marjorie enjoyed feeding others, in lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her memory to the Miramichi Food Bank.
