Douglas Brian Gilliland

Douglas Brian Gilliland, husband of Bernice Gilliland, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, April 7 2021, at the age of 72.
Born in Saint John NB, he was the son of the late Lily (Byers), and King Gilliland.
Doug retired from the Military Police as a Sargent, where he served for 22 years. Doug enjoyed his retirement golfing, travelling, playing scrabble, refinishing furniture, yard sales, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 52 years, Bernice Wedge/Aucoin; One brother, Tracey (Lovely) Gilliland; Two sisters: Tabitha (Chris) Maidment, and Deborah (Mike) Jarvis; Three daughters: Tina (Keith) Goguen, Shirley (Tom) MacDonald, and Darlene (Peter) Dignam; and six grandchildren: Jessica, Liam, Adrianne, Allie, Curtis, and Ryan.
Visitation for Doug will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home, 35 University Avenue on Sunday April 11, from 2-4, and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday April 12, at Saint Michael’s Basilica, officiated by Father John Fraser.
As per Covid-19 regulations, face masks and social distancing are mandatory.
