It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Cameron on March 3, 2021 at the age of 87. She was the daughter of the late Henry Bernard, and Helen Cripps.
Gladys will be missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband Gerald, her daughter, Tammy (Jason) of Fredericton, her two grandsons: Bailey (Liz) of Saint John, and Kody of Fredericton; her brother, Joseph Cripps (Annetta) of Halifax NS, along with several nieces and nephews. Also, her special nephew Percy Marsh (Lynda) of Miramichi, who has made countless trips to her home to check on her and make sure she had everything she needed.
Gladys meant the world to her husband. They were soulmates for the past 49 years. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. On many cold days, she would bring extra mittens and homemade treats to the rink while watching her daughter and friends skate for hours. Gladys loved to sit outside in the summer on the back patio and gaze at the boats going up and down the river. Family was very important to her. She really enjoyed her visits with her grandsons over the years, and always made sure they left her home with all of their favourite baked goods. Hours were spent picking raspberries in the backyard to make homemade raspberry jelly to be ready when Kody would call and say “Nannie, I have an emergency, I ran out of jam”. Gladys also took in several foster children over the years, often times caring for newborns awaiting adoption.
Gladys is predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Henry and Kenneth Cripps; and her sisters: Catherine Johnson, Edith Ramsay, Gertrude Ryan, and Grace Marsh.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private mass for the family will be celebrated at Saint Michael’s with internment at a later date. Pallbearers are: Jason Miller, Bailey Miller, Kody Miller, Gary Bateman, Mitchell Bateman, and Wayne Dignam.
