Janet Awong

Janet Awong (nee Davis) peacefully passed away in the early hours of January 17 after battling cancer. Janet's spirit will live on in the hearts of her caring partner, Stephen Conway, her children Lindsay (Mike), Derek, and her grandchildren, Liam & Brynn.

While Janet was born into a large family of 11 children, she will be especially missed by her sisters, Judy, Evangeline, her brother, David, and her niece, Jennifer. Janet's grand nieces, Maddison, and Kaidynn will also greatly miss their visits with their auntie. Allison, Janet's dearest friend, will also deeply feel Janet's loss.

Janet was a caring & compassionate person, which came through everyday during her 30 plus years as a nurse, where she helped others in their time of need. Although Janet spent most of her life in Ontario, when she came across Miramichi during her travels, she fell in love, and she & Stephen made Miramichi their new home.

Fearless of new experiences, Janet would hop into her van & go exploring throughout Canada & the USA, sharing her humour & infectious laughter with new friends along the way. All of us will also cherish our memories of Janet playing her guitar & singing songs for us. She & Stephen also loved their karaoke evenings, whether at home or during karaoke nights at local bars.

Rest in peace our dear partner, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend. You will be eternally in our hearts & memories. We were all blessed you touched our lives with your loving heart, joyous humour & unforgettable laughter.
