It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward (Eddie) Arthur Williams in Miramichi on January 12, 2021, at the age of 81. Born January 3rd, 1940 in Quebec, he was the son of the late Mae (Angrignon) and Art Williams.
Eddie will be lovingly remembered by Diane Richard who he spent the past 50 years together with; his five beloved daughters; Debbie, Theresa, Wanda, Guylaine & Tracey and his grandchildren: Jeremy, Daisha, Kira, Ryan, Michael & Will.
He was a beloved partner, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.
In addition to Diane, his daughters & grandchildren, he is survived by one sister, Theresa Kelly; brother-in-law, Gilbert Nephin (Marguerite); sister-in-law, Maureen Williams (Bernie); numerous nephews & nieces, and the many relatives and friends that have spanned his lifetime.
He was predeceased by his two brothers: Jackie and Bernie (Maureen); two sisters: Marguerite Nephin (Gilbert) and Jeanette MacNeil (Lindsay); and brother-in-law, Leonard O’Gorman(Theresa).
Eddie was a fifth-generation miner born into two long-time mining families. His career took him across Canada having worked in almost a dozen mines but finally settling down in Miramichi after relocating to work at Heath Steele Mines back in the 60’s. By trade, he was a miner, electrician and stevedore.
Eddie enjoyed moose and deer hunting as well as fly fishing and could often be found staking out locations with his brother Bernie, nephew Bruce and his Miramichi hunting buddies. In his most recent years, he enjoyed hanging out with friends at the Miramichi Music Jams and sipping coffee at the Napan Bakery.
Eddie above all, enjoyed hanging out with his grandchildren and girls at the cottages, and taking Sunday afternoon drives after church with Diane.
Funeral services were held for immediate family only at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Loggieville on Jan 16th with a virtual celebration of life being held on February 3rd, 2021 @ 5:30pm AST, via https://www.gatheringus.com/memorial/edward-eddie-arthur-williams/6402 .
