Raymond Leo Savage
August 16th, 1925 – January 1st, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Raymond Savage on January 1st, 2021 at Bridgeview Hall, Miramichi, NB at the age of 95.
He was born in Russellville, NB on August 16th, 1925. He was the son of the late William and Gertie (Richard) Savage. Raymond enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces (Army) on August 15th, 1944 and served until August 21st, 1946. He worked for Trans Canada Pipeline in Geraldton, Ontario. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 56 years. Besides working in the woods, Raymond enjoyed dancing, golfing, curling and his favourite baseball team was the Toronto Blue Jays.
Raymond is predeceased by his wife Marie (Connell) Savage. He is survived by his son Kevin (Anne) of Derby Junction and one granddaughter Angie (Trevor) McCallum and two great granddaughters, Kendra and Isabella. He is also survived by 3 brothers; Richard (Irene) of St. Catharine’s, Ontario; Laurie (Treva) of Jellicoe, Ontario and Jack (Carmel) of St. Catherine’s, Ontario.
Besides his wife and parents, he is predeceased by two sisters, Mildred (Dave) Allison of Miramichi and Mary (Charles) Flint of Pickering, Ontario. Also, three brothers, William (Mary) of Miramichi, Freeman (Marie) of Miramichi and Harmond (Doreen) of Miramichi.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at All Saint’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Millbank, NB at a later date.
