Peter Joseph Moar

Peter Moar, son of the late George F. and Margaret (Farrah) Moar, of Miramichi,passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, February 17, 2020.
A retired officer of the Bank of Nova Scotia, he returned to the Miramichi in 1996, where he found much pleasure in becoming involved with a number of volunteer organizations, particularly the Miramichi Folksong Festival.
Peter, who was born in Chatham NB in 1936, is survived by his sisters, Lulu (the late Mansy) Malley, and Dorothy (William) Nowlan, both of Miramichi; brother, Kevin Moar of Riverview, and sister-in-law Lorraine (the late Freddie) Moar of Miramichi, and their families, as well as an Uncle Charlie Farrah, and a number of cousins.
Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his brother Freddie, and an infant brother Patrick. By Peter’s instructions, there will be no public visitation. His remains will be forwarded for cremation and will be interred in his parents plot at Saint Michael’s Cemetery in the spring. A memorial mass will be celebrated oon Saturday, February 22, at 11:00am with Father Paul Doucet officiating.
If desired, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA, Hospice Miramichi, or a favourite charity of one’s choice. All donations would be appreciated.
