Catherine (Kay) Trevors

Catherine Elizabeth (Deredin) Trevors died on Friday, November 8, 2019 in Miramichi at the age of 88. Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Jean Wilbur Deredin and Alma Clare O’Kane.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Theodore Trevors, her parents, Jean Wilbur Deredin and Alma Clare O’Kane, her sister Mary Phyllis (Deredin) Martin and her brother, Wilbur Joseph Deredin.
She is survived by her sister, Dolores Winnifred (Deredin) McDermaid, her two brothers: Louis J. Galliah (Paula), and Raymond Benedict Deredin of Sudbury Ontario; her three sons: Paul Trevors (Margaret), Percy Trevors (Janet), and David Trevors (Julie); her three grandchildren: Andrew Trevors, Tamara Trevors and Matthew Trevors; and her three great grandchildren: Kori Trevors-Taylor, Marisa Trevors- Pitrie, and Tashon Trevors- Brooks.

Catherine, for a number of years, was a catechist at Saint Michael the Archangel Basilica, assisting children in their preparation for First Communion. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #3 Chatham Ladies Auxillary and the Legion Dart Club. Over a period of some 29 years, Catherine delivered the mail for the Rural Routes in the Craigville, Douglasfield, Chatham Head and Loggieville areas to name a few.

A Holy Mass of Christian burial was held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Saint Michael the Archangel Basilica presided over by the Reverend Father Paul Doucet. The rite of Christian burial was held at Saint Michael the Archangel Basilica cemetery.
Pallbearers for the funeral mass were: Raymond Mallet, Colin Campbell, Gerry Barrieau, Eddie Marsh, Blaine Farrah and Tyler Adams. The lectors were, Ashley Bernard and Marion (Trevors) MacDonald. The Knights of Columbus Senior Servers assisted at the mass, while the Choir of Saint Michael the Archangel Basilica sang a number of hymns played by church organist David Bunnell.
