Dorothy Ann Voutour-Murphy

Dorothy Ann Voutour-Murphy, 78, of Miramichi, NB, passed away on Friday, May 31st, 2019 at the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home.

Born in Chatham, NB, the daughter of the late Joseph & Viola (Hebert) Landry. Dorothy spent her life in devotion to the Lord whom she loved so much. She was unwavering in her love and support of those she cherished, and taught her family the importance of kindness, forgiveness, and nurturing close relationships. The Voutour home became life's center for family and friends acting as a joyful welcoming place during times of celebrations and a loving refuge in times of sorrow.

Dorothy had a passion for life and loved to experience God's great outdoors with loved ones. She was deeply admired by her children and all who witnessed her sacrificial dedication as she cared for so many during life's most difficult times.

When faced with her own difficulties, Dorothy showed us all how to fight with strength and dignity even till the very moment she was called home on her Mother's birthday.

Dorothy is survived by daughters: Karen Arseneault of Miramichi, Linda Jardine (Kevin) of Ottawa, Carol Richardson of Ottawa, Kelly Smith (Jay) of San Antonio, Texas, USA, Son: Teddy Voutour (Michelle) of San Antonio Texas USA, Grandchildren Kristin Arseneault, Robbie Arseneault, Amber Arseneault, Brandon Jardine, Travis Jardine (Jennifer), Matthew Jardine, Justin Richardson (Erin), Tyler Richardson, Jordyn Olsen, Teddy Voutour, Isabella Voutour, Tanner Voutour, Skyler Voutour, Alyssa Smith, Jake Taylor, Adrienne Smith, Josh Taylor. Great grandchildren, Bailee Jardine, Eliza Jardine, Logan Jardine. Stepchildren Colleen Theriault of Saint John, Jack Murphy of Calgary, Sherry Bohmer of Crownsnest Passage, Alberta, Larry Murphy of Saskatchewan.
She is also survived by her sister, Jean Comeau (Rick) of Harvey, brothers: Joe Landry (Ethel) of Saint John, Carl Landry (Donna) of Gogama ON, David Landry (Betty) of Miramichi, Ronnie Landry of Miramichi, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by first husband Ted Voutour, second husband Jack Murphy, son: Jimmy Voutour, Daughter-in-law: Wendy Voutour and sister: Joan Newton.

Dorothy Ann Voutour-Murphy is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, 35 University Avenue, Miramichi, NB, on Monday June 3rd, 2019, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 4th, 2019, at 11:00 am at Saint Michael’s Basilica, Miramichi, NB, with Father John Fraser officiating. As an expression of sympathy a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society (www.alzheimersociety.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
