Valmont Joseph Gibbs,86, of Nelson-Miramichi, N.B. passed away on Saturday April 20, 2019 at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home.
Born in Baie Sainte-Anne the son of the late Raymond & Linda (Martin) Gibbs.
Valmont worked for the Department of Transportation as a mechanic until his retirement.
He is survived by daughters; Susan Earle (Kevin) of Quispamsis, Colleen Shaw (Gary) of Quispamsis, Karen O’Hearn (Michael) of Moncton, sons: Gary Gibbs (Carolyn) of Riverview, Brian Gibbs (Helen) of Miramichi, Kevin Gibbs (Janet) of Miramichi, Grandchildren: Matthew, Jeffery, Mark, Michael, Jamie, Andrew, Scottie, Gregory, Emily, Laura. Great-Grandchildren: Aydan, Tanner, Ben, Charlee, Hunter, Jettson, Henry.
He is also survived by his sisters: Leola (Albert Manuel), Raymonde Gibbs, and brother: Ralph Gibbs (Late Alice) and several nieces and nephews.

Valmont Gibbs is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home Miramichi, N.B., on Monday April 22, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Nelson Miramichi, NB, with Father John Keoughan officiating.
