Leon Joseph Comeau, 65, of Miramichi, N.B. passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.

Somehow, he found a way to squeeze enough fun for three lifetimes into the years he had.

Whether he was smashing softballs over the left-field fence down in Loggieville, picking out a tune in the centre of any party, or telling jokes in the grocery-store aisle, he enjoyed sharing his life with family and friends.

During his years as an employee of the Department of Transportation, he helped keep the roads clear each winter.

Others knew him to be the kind of guy who was always willing to lend a hand building a deck, changing a set of brakes, or sketching out plans for a new garage.

Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Leon was born in Chatham, N.B., the son of the late Romeo and Bertha Comeau.

Leon is survived by his wife, Nancy MacDonald-Comeau; daughter, Melissa Bowie (Adam) and grandson Brady Bowie of Oromocto; son, Nicholas Comeau (Daniel Yu) of Halifax. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers: Janine (Wayne) Olsen, Roger (Margie) Comeau, Georgette (Nate) Hall, Ron (Karen) Comeau, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Dennis.

At his request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Saint Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, in Loggieville, N.B. with Father Arockia Dass Chinnappan officiating.

As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca/en/?region=nb).
