Marcus David Douglas Anderson, 70, of Miramichi passed away on Saturday July 7, 2018 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital surrounded by family.
Born in Chatham, N.B. he the son of the late Weldon & Isabella (Brand) Anderson. Marcus joined the army as a young man then worked as a longshoreman with the Miramichi Trades and Labor Union.
Marcus is survived by his wife Terry (LaPlante) Anderson, sons: Chris McDonald (Cara-Lee) of St. Stephen, Weldon Anderson, Marcus Anderson Jr. (Haylee) and Erik Anderson all of the Miramichi. Grandchildren: Caitlyn, Rachael, Rebecca, Carter, Kya, Robert, and Ben. Great grandchildren Carson and Hayden. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Hay of Douglastown, Londie (Donnie) O’Shea of Whitneyville, Doreen Anderson of B.C., Ada Savage (Melvin Savoie) of Chatham Head. Brothers: Norman Anderson, Roger Anderson, Ivan (Mabel) Anderson, Howard (Harriette) Anderson, Hazen (Tracey) Anderson all of the Miramichi, Myles Anderson (Alberta), Ronnie (Arlene) Anderson of Moncton, Sister in law: Heather Anderson Miramichi, the mother of his children Lea Preston Douglastown, Patsy McDonald Sussex, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marcus is predeceased by his parents, his sister Gretha, his brothers Hance and Wallace and his nephew Christopher.
Marcus was a kind patient man who spoke highly about anyone and everyone and always lived by the golden rule: Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Marcus achieved his life goal which was to let his wife and children know they were loved unconditionally and he will always be remembered by them for the unconditional love he gave without ever expecting anything in return.
Visitation and celebration of the life of Marcus Anderson will be held on Tuesday evening July 10th, 2018 from 7-9 pm from Maher’s Funeral Home 35 University Ave Miramichi. In memory of Marcus he would want you to spend time with your loved ones, take them for a walk on the beach or a drive in the woods, give them a hug and remind them how much you love them.
