Edith McEwen, 105, wife of the late Frank McEwen, of Douglastown passed away on Friday June 8, 2018 at the Foyer St. Bernard in Neguac.
Born in Iroquois Falls , ON , on May 13th, 1913 she was the daughter of the late Horace and May (Matheson) McEwen.
Edith came to live on the Miramichi when she was a young girl. She was a long time employee of the J.D. Creaghan Ltd at their Newcastle store.

Edith was predeceased by three sisters: Margaret Neil, Mary Hurdman, Ethel Clarke all of ON., two brothers: Robert McEwen, of Australia , Charles McEwen of ON, a niece Dawn Sullivan of Sydney River NS, and a nephew James Simpson of Douglastown NB.
Edith is survived by her nephews: William Clarke, Douglas Clarke, and Thomas Hurdman of ON., a niece Elaine Vye of Calgary AB, and her sister-in-law Della Patterson of Burlington , ON.

Edith McEwen is resting at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi, N.B. on Friday June 29, 2018 from 1pm until 3pm. Funeral Service will be held from Maher's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday June 29, 2018 at 3pm with Rev Charlene Maguire McKnight officiating. Internment will be in Riverside Cemetery following the funeral. As an expression of sympathy a donation may be made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
