Margaret Catherine Reinsborough

Margaret Catherine Reinsborough of Chatham, N.B. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Born in Kouchibouguac, N.B., on August 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William and Kate Leonard.
Mom was a member of the St. Michael’s Basilica-Chatham, the Catholic Women’s League, Mount St. Joseph Auxiliary and Santa Maria. She volunteered for many years at the Miramichi Regional Hospital in the pastoral care department.
Mom’s life centered around her faith and her family. Her happiest times were when her children and grandchildren were around her, especially while sitting on the back porch watching them play in the yard. Her travelling time was spent visiting their homes in Texas and Maine – usually several times a year. On these trips she would love to go shopping “just to look,” try new restaurants and happily spend time sitting with family sharing stories—always with a cup of tea. Moms’ most recent family vacation occurred this past summer in PEI where all her children and grandchildren gathered under one roof--in Mom’s words “my best vacation ever.”
Mom is survived by her daughters, Cathy of Miramichi, Ellen Marie Veitch (Brad) of Winterport Maine, Brian (Cambria) of Dallas Texas and Colleen (David Watling) of Miramichi and by her favourite four legged companion “Dolls”. She is also survived by 2 grandsons – Calder and Kellen Reinsborough and by 2 granddaughters – Alix Hershey (Kurt) and Reeve Reinsborough.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Charles (2006). She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by her sisters Annie Carter (Raymond) and Mary, as well as her eight brothers; William (Helen), Jim (Mary), Francis (Mary), Vernon (Mary), Father Raymond, Thomas and Daniel. She is survived by her sister in law Ellen Leonard (Victoria BC) and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, University Ave., Miramichi with visitation Sunday March 25, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 26th at 11:00 am at St. Michaels Basilica with Father Paul Doucet officiating.
