Kathleen Muriel Hawkes

Kathleen Muriel Hawkes passed away Monday morning March 19th at the Mount Saint Joseph's Nursing Home at the age of 87. She is survived by three daughters Nancy Vessie (Blair) of Miramichi, Mary Ellen Pellitier (Rene) of Moncton, Carolyn McNichol (Robert) of Tucson Arizona, daughter in law Marty Hawkes of Miramichi, and three sons Michael Hawkes (Heather) of Halifax, Joe Hawkes (Clare) of Miramichi, and Edward Hawkes (Anne Marie) of Fredericton. She has sixteen grandchildren David, Barbara, Anne, Denise, Jessica, Ellen, John, Marc, Maggie, Brian, Patrick, Sean, Carly, Jillian, Kristen and Dorian, along with Thirteen great grandchildren, and her sister Mona Patterson of London, Ontario. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond, son John and her sisters Margaret Edgar and Edith Kozubal.

Kathleen's greats joy in life was her family. She loved listening to music, watching sports and was an excellent armchair curler. The family would like to thank Lottie McLenaghan, Kathleen's best friend and care provider for the last eleven years.

Visitation will be held at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi on Friday March 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 24th at 11am from St Michael's Basilica with Fr Paul Doucet officiating. Reception to follow. As a expression of sympathy a donation may be made to the ALS Society (alsnbns.ca) or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
