Eleanor Manning

Eleanor Manning, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday January 19, 2018 at the
Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home provided exemplary care for Eleanor in the months before her passing.

Born in the Miramichi, she was the daughter of Harold and Helen (Dickison) McMahon. Eleanor joined her late husband in military postings to Ontario, Nova Scotia and Germany and upon retirement, moved back to the Miramichi. She worked for the Public Service in her various postings and before her illness, Eleanor was an active member of St Michaels Church. She was also a member of the Catholic Women’s League. Knitting was her passion so she was continually donating mitts, scarf's and toques to various organizations and before she lost her beloved dog Chico, you could always see the two visiting residents of the Miramichi Nursing Home.

She is survived by her daughters Debbie Currier (Don), of Selby Ontario, Kim Manning (Mark) of Perth Road Ontario, two grandsons Aaron and Jesse and brother Moran McMahon (Doreen) of Ottawa Ontario.

Besides her parents Eleanor Manning is predeceased by her husband James Manning.

Eleanor Manning is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home Miramichi on Monday January 22, 2018 from 7-9 pm and a gathering of friends and family will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 11am with Fr Paul Doucet officiating. A reception will be followed directly afterwards. In Eleanor’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Interment will be in St Michael’s Cemetery, later in the spring.
