It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Wayne George Stewart, husband of Beatrice (Dickens) Stewart, who passed away Saturday September 30, 2017 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.
Born in Miramichi, N.B. He was the son of the late George and Bernice (Russell) Stewart.
He retired foreman with the Public Works Dept of Miramichi and also a member of the Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a real sportsman he loved hunting, fishing, ski-dooing, four wheeling, loved his camp. He loved his grandchildren dearly, and family or not he was always there to help.
Besides his wife Beatrice he is survived by three sons, Shawn, Brian and Dale (Eleanor) of Miramichi, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by three sisters, Edna, Karen (Fitzy), Jeanne (Bill), and three brothers, Donnie, Ricky, and Mark. two sister-in-laws Peggy Stewart and Linda Stewart, and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne is predeceased by two brothers, Daryl, Gary and one sister-in-law Patsy.
Visitation was held at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi on Wednesday October 4, 2017 from 2-4 pm & 7-9pm. Funeral Service was held on Thursday October 5, 2017 at 1 pm from St Margaret's Roman Catholic Church in St Margaret's , NB with Fr Paul Doucet officiating. Pallbearers were Steven Walsh, Wesley MacLean, Catlin Chiasson, Robert Chiasson, Bob MacLean, and Ronald Despres. Honorary pallbearers were Agnutuk Whitely, Mike Hannah, Chris Corcoran, Walter Cormier, Donnie Lamkey, Bob Wilson, Jerry Smith, Brian Duffy, Frankie Duffy, Jamie Lee Poirier, Melbourne Smith, Charlie Spray, Lloyd Wormell, James MacLean, Lance McDonald, Amos Gray, Rodney Smith, John Jardine, Austin Ward, Billy Sargent, and Hugh Smith, Music by Soloist Jacqueline Allain. As a expression of sympathy a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society, New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation, St Margaret's Cemetery Fund, St Margaret's Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
